ALAFIA RIVER STATE PARK Directions
Fees: $7.29 per person; pay at self-pay station. Water available. 20 miles of trails.

BABCOCK WEBB WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT
AREA Directions
Fees: $3 per person, $6 per vehicle; pay at self-pay station. No water.
Horses may be used during hunting seasons throughout the area unless otherwise specified. During other times of the year, horseback riding is allowed in the recreation area lying south of the northern boundaries of Sections 19, 20, and 21. During hunting days, horses are prohibited on the Yucca Pens Unit. Park website

Camp Flying Eagle Boy Scout Camp. 16009 Upper Manatee River Road, Bradenton. Special Events only. From I-75 take exit 220 (from the North) or 220A (from the south) go East to the 4th light (Upper Manatee River Road on left and Lakewood Ranch Blvd on right, there is a Hess station and a CVS on the corner), turn left and check odometer as it is 5 miles away. Camp is on left side of road. You know you are getting close when you pass Christian Retreat.

CARLTON RESERVE Directions
No fees, but permit must be obtained in advance of ride. Download and print permit application and regulations
The Reserve covers 24,565 acres of pine flatwoods, dry prairies, hammock, and wetlands. Park website

CROOM Directions
Fees: Contact the Withlacoochee State Forest Recreation/Visitors Center, (352)754-6896, for details regarding State Forest Use Permits and camping fees. Total equestrian trail mileage is 34.22 miles. No water. Trails closed during the muzzleloading gun and general gun portions of the annual hunting season. Park website

Doe Lake - Directions 20220 SE 127TH STREET ROAD

29.04861, -81.8236, Travel from I-75 to SR40 East, to Forest Road 588. Take Forest Road 588 to Forest Road 573 West. Continue on Forest Road 573 to Doe Lake Group Site. Website

Dover (Sydney Dover(in Brandon)7.5 mile trail. The trailhead has plenty of space for horse trailers, plus a kiosk with information and trail map. Minimal facilities include a few picnic tables and portable restrooms.
The trail is located at 535 N. Dover Rd. Take Hwy. 60 to N. Dover Road and turn north. Go approximately ½ mile to parking area on the east side of the road. Please call Medard. Park at 813 757-3802 for additional information.


DUETTE PARK Directions
Fees: $2.00. Water available. Park access limited to specific days and hours; for information call (941)742-5923. Park website

Florida Ag Center - Permit to camp overnight. Has water.

Green Swamp - No permit for day riding, has water.

Hanover (Lake Panasoffkee) - No permit for day riding, Permit required for overnight camping, has stalls (for campers) and water.

The park has horse trails, a hiking trail, a Handicap-accessible hiking trail, a bike trail, picnic areas, a picnic pavilion, a playground, and a boardwalk. Lake Manatee - $2.00 fee to ride, no permit, no water.

LAKE TOWNSEND REGIONAL PARK - 28011 Lake Lindsey Road (CR 476), Brooksville, FL 34601- 375 Acres, horseback riding trails in a densely wooded area, bounded by the State Forest to the north and the Withlacoochee River on the east. The park also provides access to the Withlacoochee State Trai. Map


LITTLE MANATEE RIVER STATE PARK
Directions
Park Fee. No special permit required. Must have Coggins. Water available in lake. 8-10 miles of horse trails and service roads plus four equestrian campsites. Trails include woods and open hammocks. Park website

LOWER HILLSBOROUGH WILDERNESS PARK
Directions
Fees: No fee to ride. Owned and managed by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Very limited parking outside gate; parking available inside gate by permit. No water. MYAKKA RIVER STATE PARK Directions
Fees: $5.00 fee includes park admission and riding. No special permit required. Must have Coggins. No water. 12 miles of trails through marshes and hammocks. Can be very hot and buggy in summer. Park website

Oak Ridge - No fee, no permit, no water.

Oklawaha (Campground)

Sawtooth Trailhead - Crystal River , FL. Small quiet secluded campground with water and electric hook-ups. Covered stalls for horses. Also a furnished cabin for rent. (Total of 6 sites). Level trails on Ingils Island, a section of the Cross Florida Greenway trails. Some parts are open, some wooded, some along the river. 20 miles of trails. Lots of wildlife. SERENOVA TRACT of Starkey Wilderness Preserve. Directions
2,300 acres of wetlands with 18 miles of shared-use trails and an equestrian parking area near main gate. No fee to ride. Coggins required. Portable toilet and non-potable water available in equestrian camping area. Entrance located in central Pasco County off SR 52 on south side of road just west of Suncoast Parkway across from Hayes Road. Park website

South Dover - No fee, no water.

Tillis Hill, Brooksville - 37 campsites with electricity and water hook-ups, No pets allowed. Reservations are required (Call 352/ 344-4238) for camping, horse stalls & tie-outs, dining hall and pavilion/BBQ. Two of the twenty stalls are designed for stallions. UPPER HILLSBOROUGH WATER MANAGEMENT AREA Directions
As of May 16, 2007, the Upper Hillsborough Trail in Upper Hillsborough Water Management Area east of Zephyrhills is closed until further notice due to wildfire damage.
Fees: No fee to ride, but a free permit is required for horse trailers to access parking areas located behind locked gates at both access points. Owned and managed by Southwest Florida Water Management District. No potable water. 24 miles of trails on wooded roads.
